Marvel: The Heroes In My Life

“A hero is someone that cares about the well-being of others and goes out of their way to help, even if they have no reward.” Stan Lee. “A person who is a superhero is one who is willing to help others out of the goodness of their heart, even if there is no reward.” This is usually where people post something inspiring, sad, or some other kind of message. This time, it’s not going to happen. In this essay I will write about the Marvel Heroes I like and why I love them. This allows me to write something I enjoy and hopefully give the reader something new to read. Tony Stark and Peter Parker are my favorite Marvel Heroes.

Tony Stark, my favorite hero, isn’t just for one reason. He had no powers, like other heroes. He had only his suit. He only had his suit. You could say that his intelligence is his greatest power. The suit and his intelligence give him an edge over the physically stronger heroes. His passion for what he do is one reason why I love him. It is evident by the way he laughs and plays loud music while fighting. He loves his work when he takes the time to upgrade and maintain his suits. The suit’s power is what determines his limits. I’m not saying that he likes to fight just because he can. He loves to protect those he cherishes.

Peter Parker is also my hero. The story of his past is one reason. Peter Parker’s story is unique. I understand that many heroes have tragic backstories, but it is not the norm. After his father and mother die, he’s sent to live in the house of his aunt and his uncle. While there he takes a fieldtrip and gets bitten by radioactive spider. His powers came from that. He uses his powers when his uncle is murdered in front of his eyes. His age is another reason. His age is similar to mine and that of many other students I attend school with, and I find that we all can relate to this person. The powers are not what I was thinking of but the high school experience. I can’t imagine how some of friends would deal with high school stress and powers like those. Tony Stark is a man who loves his work and loves protecting the people he cares for.

Natasha Romanova has to be my last hero. It is true that she is a woman. There are so many men who are strong and brave, but very few women. It would have been nice to see girls look up at someone who was so strong and confident. She is relatable in some aspects, but I have no idea how she managed to accomplish what she did. As an example, even though I’ve never murdered anyone, the feeling of guilt over something that I did is relatable. I think she is giving back because she has killed many people. This is something I admire, but I don’t love it. I get why she wants to change everything. She wants it to be better. She’s done everything she can, including bringing back all of the people.

When asked, “Who is your hero?” I will answer with certainty that Tony Stark and Peter Parker are my three favorite Marvel Heroes. All of these reasons and others I haven’t mentioned make them my favorites. Yes, these fictional characters have weaknesses. While they all have weaknesses, there are also strengths that they possess and things we can admire. There are no two people alike and that’s why we love them. “A true hero will always put others first, and go the extra mile to help them, even if it means they won’t be rewarded.” Stan Lee. “A real superhero is someone who is willing to help others out of the goodness of their heart, even if there is no reward.” Who is your superhero?
